2005
This year I am L403, racing on the 2004 Honda CRF250X. We had to replace the valves once last year and in April of this year they starting having problems again :-( If Honda could just fix the valve problems it would be a perfect bike!

2004
We made our annual trek to the Mojave Desert in California and raced the Jackrabbit's Hare and Hound at Red Mountain. I finished 5th out of 9 in the Women's Novice class. Out of all the Novices, I finished 53 of 64.
For the 2004 TCCRA season I am racing with the number L413. The first four races were on the 2001 Kawasaki KDX200, but the rest of the season was on my new 2004 CRF205X. I finished the season in 3rd.

2003 For the 2003 TCCRA season I am racing with the number L605. I'm still riding the 2001 Kawasaki KDX200. 2002 For the 2002 TCCRA season I raced with the number L607. I'm still riding the 2001 Kawasaki KDX200. I finished 5th overall. In January we participated in the AMA District 37 desert race. Check out the photos. I finished 8th out of 11 women novice riders. 2001 In 2001 I raced in the TCCRA Ladies Amateur class as L651. I rode my new 2001 Kawasaki KDX200. I also rode the new bike in a District 37 race, the Jackrabbits Hare and Hound, on January 14, 2001, earning 6th place in the ladies novice class. 2001 2000 I raced in the TCCRA Ladies Amateur class as L607. The season got off to a good start - I got my first TCCRA trophy in the first race. At one point I was even up in 3rd place! Then in the second race I was 2nd off the start. Things seemed really good right up until the first mile - check out the link to the Bonita race report and see my x-ray for my broken arm. I was able to make it back for the race at Lake Murray. A few weeks after the Lake Murray race the doctor officially released me to ride. I'm slowly getting back up to speed. And the big excitement: I got a new 2001 Kawasaki KDX200 for the last three races! ** Special thanks to Randy from Honda West for fixing my carburetor problem at the first race. 2000
1999 1999 was my first season racing dirt bikes. My very first race was the Jackrabbits' Hare and Hound in California's Mojave desert in January 1999 - I finished second in my class. Of course, there were only two of us in the Women's beginner class, but I did get my name in Cycle News. It was an extremely challenging course for me. If I hadn't been out there in the middle of nowhere with no one else in sight (they were all so far ahead of me) I don't know if I would have dared to attempt some of those hills! I raced the 1999 TCCRA cross-country season here in Texas in the ladies amateur class. We just finished the last race and I am 7th overall. Just one place away from a year-end trophy! Oh well, maybe next year. The season was fun. I made several new friends and learned a lot. Stephanie Taylor (L699) and I started off the season trading off last place, and ended up the season switching off places in the middle of the pack. Who knows what we'll do next year! Memorable moment: Olney, Sept. 1999; my first real crash and my first injury. Thank goodness it's only a bruise (a huge, footpeg shaped one). I was limping for a while but I managed to work most of the stiffness out before the race. That dust can be dangerous - I didn't see a big dip in what appeared to be a straightaway and somehow managed not to go head-first over the handlebars. Instead I came up out of the dip and landed on my right side with my leg under the bike. I didn't realize until the next week that it tore the pants in addition to the bruise. Here are my standings as of the end of the 1999 TCCRA season: Overall place in the Ladies
Amateur class: 7th
As a final note on the season, a group of us TCCRA "girls" raced at Village Creek MX in Kennedale, TX. There were six of us, so we got to race in our own "ladies" class. For four of us it was our first motocross race as well as our first time on that track. The other two ride in the expert and intermediate class in TCCRA and of course they came in first and second. Beckee as usual was ahead of the rest of us amateurs. Stephanie, PCay, and I fought it out for the two remaining trophies. PCay had a little mishap at the start of the first moto and I managed to somehow stay ahead of Stephanie, so I ended up with 4th, Stephanie with 5th, and PCay in 6th. My Humble Beginnings I started riding dirt bikes in the fall of 1997 when we bought a Honda XR200. It was a way of getting around to watch my husband, Pat, at various spots on the cross-country track as he raced his Yamaha 125. Once I got a little better at riding, I thought I would give racing a try. I want to say thanks to my husband Pat for being so patient with me! He has spent many an hour waiting for me to catch up with him on the trail, or trekking back along the trail to help me pick up my bike and get it started again. In the early days he even had to ride my bike through certain sections of the trail. I really appreciate that as I know how hard it is to walk any distance in those boots!
